Simulation and Optimization of a Greenhouse-Type Solar Dryer with Comsol Multiphysics

Solar drying remains for developing African countries the only economical means of preserving foodstuffs which post-harvest losses sometimes reach 60%.
 It was modeled in this work, different elements that constitute a solar system by natural convection. This model is described heat, mass and momentum balance equations between exchange media.
 The initially made it possible to describe dynamic behavior calorific value greenhouse-type dryers.
 optimization study through simulations also compare power more than 180 dryers. analysis simulation results gave dryer small size (h = 2.5 m l 3 m) with large identical openings (inlet loutlet 25 cm) positioned at two extremes: bottom inlet (Ye 0.1 high air outlet (Ys 1.65 m), as an energy-efficient (Taverage 50.73 oC). fluidity (Vaverage 0.58 m.s-1) remarkable could be used food products.
